Jeans

The title and photo may not seem to make any sense but bear with me - it'll all be crystal clear as I continue. I had a lovely week at home, I met my niece and the rest of the family although my niece was the only one pooping in a diaper [I hope] and that was when I handed her over to my mom to deal with. I think it's awesome being an auntie, you can cuddle and give them gifts but as soon as they vomit and poop you can hand them back to whence they came. It's a sweet deal.

One of the many things I've longed to do is to take a dog or 2 and head off into the forest for a nice long walk. Walking in the forest is something I've always loved doing whether it's been with a horse or a dog or both - it's my way of reaching absolute comfort and joy in just being and my heart rate goes from wilder than wild to calm, slow and regular, which I hear is quite important. This time I also brought with my [new] camera to try and capture some of the beauty.

I was happily walking along when I came upon the mushroom featured above. As most of the growing things it grows close to the ground and therefore I had to bend down to get level with the pretty, damned thing. I'm getting old and as my knees are practically screwed anyway, this is a move that is usually accompanied with a lot of grunts - the being old and not so flexible kind of grunt - and to my surprise with a new additional sound.

'Wtf was that?' I asked out loud and the dog stopped in her prowl for some interesting scents and looked at me with a tilted head. The moment of absolute quiet made me think that it was all just in me head but as I stood up again I felt a draft.

What I said will not be repeated here but I was really annoyed when I realised that the hem of my jeans had got stuck under my shoe and therefore causing the jeans to stretch beyond their capacity when I bent down. Yep, the jeans tore right under my left buttcheek and that was that. As I was in the middle of the forest I reasoned that not a lot of creatures would be offended by my ass hanging out but it felt a bit.....cold and I continued our walk and got some lovely pictures and a couple of days later I bought 2 new pairs of jeans so all in all I'd say that I got the better deal but I feel for the animals that may have seen me - it can't have been pretty and I'm pretty sure the dog laughed all the way home.
