7 things about me

I've been tagged by one of my former students to list 7 things about myself so here goes...

1) I wanted to join the army when I, 3 weeks before the final tests and confirmation that I could join the infantry, broke my knee skiing so had to reconsider what to do after high school - I went to the US as an au-pair instead.

2) I actually liked most of the food that was served in high school, and I am picky.

3) I had a bit of an eating-issue when I was 22.5 years old. I weighed 48kg in June-01 and despite knowing that I was ill and how tired and listless I was at my worst, I sometimes wish I was 'there' again. Am also frightened to fall back into that trap again so I am not allowed to own a set of bathroom scales - I also eat more than I should, damn that co-living trap.

4) Sometimes I use youtube to listen to my secret pleasures that make me really happy. One of those ridiculous songs is 'The Ding Dong Song' By Gunther and the Sunshine Girls. (Saddo)

5) I would soooo have sex with Sandra Bullock if the opportunity arose. I am straight as a laser beam but sometimes those beams bend for the right person.*

6) I sometimes think about the stuff I'd do if Boyfriend did the nasty on me and I fear I may be a horrible person and the worst part is .... I think I would be a bit disappointed if I never got to do the whole revenge thing.

7) As of 25 minutes ago, I cannot stop thinking about fresh pineapple. The sweet and tangy juiciness in slice after slice after slice.

I won't tag anyone specifically, please tag yourselves if you fancy it.

*and obviously she'd need to be in on it too so not very likely but still...

As 2007 comes to an end...

Tag yourself - or not.

1) Where did you begin 2007?

At a private party and in amazement as Boyfriend and T screamed out the local football team's supporter songs from the balcony. I later woke him up "singing" the exact same songs and he was - let's say - mildly embarrassed.

2) What was your status by Valentine’s Day?

Most likely crying my eyes out from the crappy job I had.

3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?

That was what I was doing in February and I quit.

4) How did you earn your money?

Selling my soul working at the school. Am now earning money from a non-crying kind of job and sleeping around with random strangers.

5) Did you have to go to the hospital?

Yup, but only to come with Boyfriend for his pay cheque and I then decided never to get ill as it was last modernised in the Victorian era (and that is not an exaggeration)

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?

Only to get a closer look/sniff of the horses.

7) Where did you travel this year?

Home (South of Sweden), östersund, Cape Verde (Sal) and within the UK

8) What did you purchase that was over $1,000?

Not much if it's for 1 thing only.

9) Did you know anybody who got married?

None that I was invited to.

10) Did you know anybody who passed away?

Only celebrities and some friends' pets...

11) Biggest surprise?

That Boyfriend have started talking about having babies and I'm so not there just yet.

12) Did you move anywhere?

I'm done moving for a while - at least not anywhere far away.

13) What concerts/shows did you go to?

Lots of various gigs as Boyfriend's +1.

14) Are you registered to vote?

Yes, Boyfriend sorted it out but I think he regrets it as I'll probably vote for the other guy...

15) Who did you want to win Dancing with the Stars?

I don’t watch that shit.

16) Where do you live now?

Sheffield, UK

17) Describe your birthday?

Let's just say that Boyfriend was in serious trouble for a while.

18) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2007?

Work in the same business as my sister.

19) What has been your favorite moment?

Going home is always a favourite and our holiday in Cape Verde despite the food poisoning.

20) What's something you learned about yourself?

I’m enjoying my new professional path albeit one that I never would have thought of 1 year ago.

21) Any new additions to your family?

Boyfriend's sister got a tiny tiny baby

22) What was your best month?

Lots of them. I've had a pretty fantastic year. Summer in Sweden was fan-bloody-tastic with lots of sun and not much rain - as opposed to here...

23) What music will you remember 2007 by?

Neko Case, Camera Obscura (might be "old" but they were new to me)

24) Who has been your best drinking buddy?

"H" at my new job - it might have been only once but: God, it was fun!

25) Favourite night out?

Jabu - it doesn't matter if it's with friends or just Boyfriend and I.

Tag, you're it

Realised that I'd been tagged ages ago but never gotten around to post it... Here it is:
Three Things About Me

Three screen names that you’ve had: Emzi, Polly-Esther, I must be boring but those are the only ones I've had...

Three things you like about yourself: My knockers (I have a very nice set, according to Boyfriend), my evil sense of humour, I take good care of my animals (have none at the mo - but in my imagination I have a horse, a dog and a puffer-fish and they're all in excellent health!).

Three things you don’t like about yourself: The size of my ass, my tendency to be a nagging whiny-ass beyotch, my hair isn't as blonde as it used to be.

Three parts of your heritage: Stubbornness from both granddads, I know my way around a farm, and a little bit more stubbornness, whee!

Three things that scare you: The idea that Intelligent Design may actually be taught as the only [a scientific] theory in some schools, cave exploring with flesh eating creatures stalking me (The Descent scared the shit out of me), being chased by a Black Mamba through the African bush.

Three of your everyday essentials: BBC Breakfast, Rix MorronZoo, checking my favourite blogs

Three things you are wearing right now: A pair of severly-out-of-fashion jeans; a grey t-shirt with pink print; shabby, smelly old slippers. I am a FASHIONISTA.

Three of your favorite songs: That depends on my mood, but for right now: Li'l Kims “How Many Licks?”, “Portugal” by Christian Kjellvander, “Jag Väntar” by Sofia Karlsson (this song gives me the chills no matter how many times I listen to it)

Three things you want in a relationship: fidelity, good sex, being similar in the ways that really count

Two truths and a lie: I've eaten razor clams and loved it, I've eaten scallops and loved it, I've eaten breadfruit and loved it

Three things you can’t live without: food, animals and books

Three places you want to go on vacation: Samoa; Papua New guinea; Alaska

Three things you just can’t do: Wolf whistle, spit properly, speak Turkish

Three kids names: I'munique; Moxie Crimefighter; Charlize Angel.

Three things you want to do before you die: learn how to sail; become a princess; have more laughs than frowns.

Three celeb crushes: Patric Dempsey, Colin Firth, Robert Duvall

Three of your favorite musicians: Again, this changes from day to day, but high on the list right now are The Twilight Sad, Sugababes and Dolly Parton.

Three physical things about the opposite sex that appeal to you: soft hands (hands used to hard work can be surprisingly soft), brown eyes, legs (footballer's legs).

Three of your favorite hobbies: Reading, riding, messing around on the Internet

Three things you really want to do badly right now: Walk into town, find the pair of jeans, have lunch - I'm hungry

Three careers you’re considering/you’ve considered: Writer, rich bitch, veterinarian

Three ways that you are stereotypically a boy: I laugh at fart jokes; if you ever see me looking off thoughtfully into the distance, odds are high that I’m not pondering the meaning of life so much as imagining some filthy, dirty, wrong sex; I'd really like getting mucky playing in the dirt without getting into trouble with mom for having dirty clothes.

Three ways that you are stereotypically a girl: I love chick lit, I have a passion for girly clothing and shoes, I love getting even or planning nasty revenge stunts.
