In Which There Is Book Snobbery

I must say that I cannot understand the hysteria related to the movie Angels & Demons, based on Dan Brown's book. Dan Brown is a shit author. Seriously.

I did read The Da Vinci Code and though it was entertaining-ish, it was not very well written - if you know what I mean. But hey, who am I to judge? He's got his books published so there's got to be something, right? So I thought I'd give Dan Brown another go and promptly bought Digital Fortress - it was worse than finding catshit in your muesli. I suffered the whole way through and left the book on the train as I did not want to be seen carrying it. I'm surprised it wasn't blown to pieces by the Security at the trainstation.

I doubt Angels & Demons will be any good and I really do hope that people will se through the hype and just don't bother buying any of his books. But I should say that Boyfriend and I do plan to buy at least one and that book will be used to threaten our [future] children with if they don't behave.

Us: "If you don't behave you will have to go to your room and read Dan Brown!"
Child: "Aaaw Mooooom! Not Dan Brown!! Pleeeeease Dad, I was enjoying Franz Kafka."

or something like that...

All I know is that Dan Brown is shit - and not the good kind.

I'm reading Dan Brown's 4th book at the moment and seriously couldn't put the others down. I loved them and the way he wrote them. :) It's funny how tastes differ.
