Showing my age

I stopped by HMV on my way home from work yesterday. There was one thing that I needed (yes, needed) and it was series 6 of The Sopranos. I did buy The Sopranos but I also saw something that took me back quite a few years... I was walking along the isles filled with DVDs when suddenly. I. Saw. It. A movie I saw ages ago - and I mean aaaaages ago - Adventures in Babysitting from 1987.

Jeez, that was the year before Brother was born and I was probably pestering my parents for a dog and a pony (it did pay off) and I vividly remember this movie. SO much fun and I thought Elisabeth Shue was so pretty and....having such cooooool clothes.

As far as being pretty I still think she is but the cool clothes? Not so much. Maybe it's because I lived through all of the 80's and started getting into wearing...eh...cool clothes but I've hated all the retro 80's clothes that's been in fashion during the past year. horror. Saying that though, I'm really looking forward to sitting down with a bowl of popcorn, some "light" brown fizzy drink and just enjoy.*

*Boyfriend will just have to suck it up as I had to put up with him reading/studying a gynaecology book in bed last night... not exactly something I need to see right before going to bed. Even if this rotation doesn't make him dislike 'coffee', I think I will....
**Not me in picture nor is it a relative of any kind. But it could have been me.

I too love that movie and I also thought that about Miss Shue. My parents have that movie, might just have to borrow it and see it again...
