Is it possible to die from laughing too much?

Every day I take time to read some Swedish newspapers on the Internet, it's my way of keeping in touch with what happens in Sweden and I don't think I could be without this very precious ritual. Some are trashy and some are a bit more 'serious' but it's mostly about the sad state of our world etc etc. However - how unlikely as it may seem - today I read something that made me laugh so hard that I had to crawl into the bathroom and pee and I was very close to not making it! Anyway, I thought I'd try and translate the article for those who may not be able to understand Swedish.

Co-op held up with an ox fillet

NORRKÖPING. A 49 year old shoplifted an ox fillet - but was discovered. Instead of quietly surrendering he tried to punch his way to freedom - by using the ox fillet.

It was at Co-op Forum outside the town of Norrköping that the man went shoplifting. "He fancied ox fillet and took one. When the security guard tried to stop him he became annoyed and tried to punch his way out", said Mr Fors, commanding police officer in Norrköping.

But the 49 year old was not using his arms and used instead the item he'd just stolen.

Two injured

The security guard and one more person were hit by the ox fillet and it is not known if anyone had been hurt as a result. The man was later arrested outside the grocery store. "He will be charged with assault instead of shoplifting due to his violent resistance", says Mr Fors.
