went out to celebrate A's 30th birthday and had a great time. I spoke to one of the girls (S) there and we have decided that it's time for me to join their book club. It'll be once a month and it sounds like fun. I honestly never thought I'd join one but I need to meet some people and I love reading so...
we ate at a Tapas place and the food wasn't bad at all. The service wasn't as good, however, the waitress was sour faced and quite rude. One girl got a plate with 10 (!) beans on and she told the waitress it was ridiculous to think that the amount of food correlated to the pricetag of £5. The waitress was no pleased at all and I dare not think of what she did to the rest of our food....
I was busy talking so i didn't realise that there was a bit of commotion going on but when it came to paying the bill, some girls realised that they (waitress) had billed us for 57 dishes, which, despite it being Tapas, is a little bit overboard for 14 people. They brought it up with the waitress who got really angry telling them to just pay so she could go home as she was tired. S tried to get her attention and lightly touched the waitress' arm and she just went off on one. T and Boyfriend calmly tried to reason with the waitress that we all just wanted to sort it all out and pay/leave but she wouldn't have any of it. C then spoke to the manager who gave the waitress a bollocking for being rude and flat out told her and us that it would be her last night.
The poor manager was really apologetic and sweet (B -a boy- even thought so....!) and gave us all a drink of some Spanish liquor (49 different ingredients) and it was l o v e l y!! S and I sat where he just happened to put down a load of extra glasses so we got ourselves a double!
The waitress refused to say good bye when we left - I wonder why...
