A Bookclub of 2

We went to the Milestone last night and had some wonderful food and lovely service (she remembered us and what we'd had last time). We decided for their awesome cheese selection for dessert and ordered a bottle of red wine to go with it. I know, all very grown up and fairly snobbish but the cheese is fan-fuggin-tastic! And you gotta pretend sometime, that's what makes life so much fun!

Now, here's the deal: I'm unable to drink more than 1,5 glass - maximum - without me getting all giggly, touchy-flirty, airheaded and stereotypically blonde... Nothing much was different from last night apart from the fact that Boyfriend sighed very deeply and managed to get me into a subject without me losing focus too quickly and chirping "I think monkeys are really funny animals!" : BOOKS! I had to give him my top 5 books of all time and the reasons for it. So I did.
  • Bartleby the Scrivener - too wonderful to make it justice with words coming from an infidel like me
  • Pride and Prejudice - no explanation needed
  • The Scarlet Letter - the imagery people! The imagery!
  • Salmon Fishing in Yemen - the words my friends. The words!
and then I couldn't really find a fifth... although I have plenty for a top 10, top 50, top 100, top 1000 a.s.o.

Your favourite books?

Not sure I dare list my five books since they are nowhere near as smart as your books are... Maybe later, when brain is working again :-)

Hey, that's my "fancy-booklist" and the one where I take my English degree into account. I have plenty of other more fun lists and you know that Ms Evanovich is a safe lister...

Ok, five books I love (not in specific order):
1. Crime and Punishment - love it!
2. Bridget Jones' diary - my inspiration in life
3. Veronica decides to die - Coelho's book, not sure about the title in English but definitely the best book I've ever read
4. The love letter - sooo lovely and one of the first "grown-up" books I read
5. The perks of being a wallflower - cute, sadish and great
