A Viking in a Lehenga Choli

So this huge 3 day wedding is coming up. only 2 more days. I am looking forward to it but I am also a bit apprehensive - 3 days! Can I be sociable for 3 days or will I leave the wedding with less friends [than I already have]? Oh well, I've got some awesome clothes. Friday evening's outfit more or less sorted. Saturday's (2 outfits) sorted and also Sunday's wedding ceremony (trad. Indian outfit and accessories) and a really nice [and flattering despite my humongous arse] pencil skirt and coral [this summer's new black] coloured top for the reception.

Lots of money spent but all can be worn again - although I'm struggling to come up with a reason to wear the Lehenga Choli but I guess it can always go in the fancy dress "look-what-grandma-once-wore" part of the closet.

Have I mentioned that we're seriously looking for houses? It's scary as hell but exciting to plan doing up a house to our [read: my!] liking. Let's face it; it'll be how I want it. The Scandinavian rules the roost over the English - just like the Vikings once did (before they realised what a rainy dump this was and left for better places). I am yet to be able to tie the English one up and bring him back across to better lands but one day, mark my words, one day!

Just Stuff

I had my hair cut today as it was getting increasingly difficult seeing through the long fringe albeit thin and whispy. It turned out really nice so I am happy with it. I also bought a really nice stylish black cardigan that'll keep me warm over the coming winter months. As the store where I got the cardigan is right next to the store where I, undoubtedly, spend most of my money I had to have a look around and sure enough - I came out with 3 new books. Oh well, it'll keep me for a week or so.

I am quite keen to get a house so I can get all my books in bookcases and not keep them in hiding under the bed where I can't be bothered rooting around and read them over and over again. Not only do I love seeing my books it also makes it a bit cheaper as I have in the past bought duplicates a couple of times. It doesn't matter but it'd be nice to use that money for new books instead.

Boyfriend/Fiancé is practising with The Band (!) as they've got a gig coming up. I guess I'll have to go as the supportive girlfriend/fiancée I am. I'll enjoy it, I'm sure as they're a lot better than their last gig - new drummer and new songs so it'll be good.

I LOVE being off work. It's the best thing ever! If I could get paid to do this all the time, I would (obviously not through being in the dole or on benefits...)

Happiness in a jar - that lasts 2 weeks

Yes, it's the end of the weekend for many [most] people but I guess you could say I'm at the beginning of a very long weekend. In fact, I won't be going back to work until September 7th. Be happy for me, please.

Ta ta!

Ready for Anger Management?!

I've spent the last couple of weeks looking exactly like the pictures in my previous post. If I haven't been sleeping; I've thought about it; cried about it and getting angry about it.

Not very healthy but oh well. I've got the next 2 weeks off from work so will catch up on sleep and prowl my surroundings looking for jewellery and sandals to match the Lehenga Choli I'll be wearing to the British/Indian wedding next weekend. A nice little 3 day event probably amounting to the humble sum of at least £50K+. You don't have to worry, I've already ensured Fiancé ours won't even be a tenth of that.

Intermission....

Just had a little aggression towards the computer as it's stopped spellchecking without me telling it to stop. If Fiancé hadn't been next to me we would have had a laptop floating in the river. Crappy technology that doesn't work the way it should. It's really pissed me off so I'd better leave writing the rest for some other time.

I'll be in a better mood next time. Maybe...

*See! I remebered!!

In Which Subtitles Can Be Annoying

Yesterday I got fed up waiting for UK tv to show Veronica Mars so I ordered the complete season 1 from amazon.co.uk. It's region 1 as the only ones on region 2 have German subtitles - the kind of subtitles you can't choose not to have. I did also find a Swedish boxset but again, non optional Swedish subtitles. Why can't the feature be non-subtitles no matter what country you buy it from - and then you choose if you want it subtitled or even a different audio altogether? I know must stuff can be bought here in the UK, but it's very annoying the times you have to look elsewhere. So I bought Region 1 and we'll try it on our DVD-player. Hopefully it'll work and if it doesn't we'll buy a cheap multi-regional DVD-player. No biggie, I guess, it's just that I really want to see it (VM) again and as i moved here in time to miss season 2 and 3 on Swedish telly I've got something to look forward to.

On another note - Lady Gaga played at Storsjo Yran (music festival) in Ostersund, Sweden yesterday and I wish I could have been there. She's awesome!

Sandra Bullock

Boyfriend and I went to see The Proposal last night. You know, the one with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I am, and have been for a very long time, a big fan of Sandra Bullock* so watching this movie was an absolute must. To be fair, Ryan Reynolds was really good in it as well and them two together made the movie. They were brilliant! I loved it and before it had started properly I just knew it'd be a move I'd watch over and over again. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD!!

I'd even go so far to say I wouldn't mind seeing it again! Maybe I'll take a trip to the cinema if I'm on my own one evening. Boyfriend also liked it and laughed out loud a couple of time - this is almost unheard of when we watch one of "my" films and that made The Proposal even better!

GO SEE IT!

*not only is she great at what she does, I also think she seems to be a really really lovely person and not to mention gorgeous!
